Welcome Solis’

Churches have many watershed moments. From breaking ground for a new building to burning the mortgage of an existing facility, the body of Christ is a place of growth and change. In fact, if it isn’t a place of growth and change, it will eventually cease to exist.

In 1979, Warner Memorial Church of God and First Church of God merged together to form Northwest Church of God (now Crossroads)…a watershed moment. This past September, we celebrated 50 years of ministry at 80th and Capitol…a watershed moment.

We have recently opened our doors to a new ministry, spearheaded by Irma and Pedro Solis…a watershed moment. Pedro and Irma have been called by God to Milwaukee to plant a Hispanic Church of God. The new work will be called Iglesias de Dios.

I want to thank the Crossroads Family for your willingness to open the doors of this church and your hearts to this family. I know it is stretching us…it is pulling us out of our comfort zone. But I truly believe God is at work and He is going to do some wonderful things.

The Crossroads Vision statement reads: To be encouragement and hope to all people by sharing the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the truths in God’s Word through intentional ministry to children, youth and families in our community.”

It’s almost impossible not to look at that statement and realize that this new ministry fits our vision perfectly. This is an opportunity to partner with a new church in an effort to win souls to Jesus…isn’t that what we are supposed to be about?

Jesus says in Matthew 28: 18-20: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Every time a new person comes to know Jesus, it is a watershed moment…in the life of the individual and in the life of the church. I look forward to sharing in such moments with Irma and Pedro and with you, the Crossroads family. Please keep both our ministries in prayer…God has lots do to in Milwaukee…and He wants us to join in Him in the work!

With Love,

Pastor Bruce
