We are quickly nearing Christmas. Join us in this time of Advent as we continue preparing for the celebration of God's incarnation. Dec. 18th we will celebrate the Lord's Supper, focus on Mary's response to God and share with others through our Christ's Birthday Observance offering. On Christmas Eve we will have a service of Christmas Carols and candle-lighting beginning at 4 pm. We will also have our regular morning schedule on Christmas Day (service at 10:15).

In the midst of your Christmas preparations, remember to prepare for living into your baptism as you reflect once again on the Incarnation we celebrate in this season!

Christian One-Liners

In upcoming weeks, we will focus upon some of the central aspects of the Christian life. God is Love, Jesus is Lord, Repent and be Baptized and other key phrases. By unpacking these we will seek to understand what it means to follow Christ and participate in the Kingdom here and now.

Friday, September 9th @ 6:30 pm join us for a free outdoor showing of the movie Cars. We will have some refreshments for free so bring a chair, blanket, and enjoy the show. We will also have a silent auction to support our missions program. (Updates to follow of what will be in the auction.) A few items will end that night, but most will end on Sunday Sept. 18th at a lunch after our morning service (we'd love to have you with us that day, but you will not have to be present to win).  In the event of rain, we will show the movie on Saturday night @ 6:30 rain (indoors) or shine (outdoors).

We have some important dates and events coming up.

First, Rock Springs Family Camp is August 1-7.

August 28th after service, we will vote on an interim budget to shift our fiscal year to match the calendar year.

September 9th (rain date 9/10) we will host our neighbors for an outdoor movie on the south end of the Sanctuary--bring your own lawn chair or blanket. At the outdoor movie, there will also be a Silent Auction to raise funds for our four faith promise partners.

Capping off a busy weekend, we will be hosting the Wisconsin Church of God Unity Meeting at 3:30 on September 11th. Pastor Hibbler from Cedar Hills will be preaching.

Finally, for your calendar's delight is the Men's chili cook-off and Women's pie bake-off scheduled for October 16th after the morning service.

We're looking to serve our neighbors by offering a free, fun event for families. We are moving forward with plans for an outdoor movie. As we work out the logistics and select a (September) date, we'll post more info to the website.

Christian Womens Connection (CWC) is the new name for the national organization of women serving the Church Of God, Anderson Indiana.  Crossroads COG has the privilege of hosting the North Central Region spring meeting of CWC on April 9 & 10, 2010.  Ladies will be attending from churches in Wisconsin and neighboring states such as Minnesota, Iowa, & Illinois.  If you are interested in attending or being of service please contact Kathy Brad through our contact list on this website.
